About the Piranhas
Our club is a Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) summer recreational competitive swim team, competing in Division K for the 2025 season . We offer high quality coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every swimmer an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success to the best of their ability.
This team was founded in 1988 by Mark Schoenfelder.
The Piranhas are led by Head Coach Jenni Halem. She brings nearly 15 years of coaching experience in Montgomery County both in MCSL and Potomac Valley. Having previously coached for Manchester Farm, Clarksburg Village, Joe Flaherty Dolphins, Rockville Montgomery Swim Club and Nation's Capital Swim Club. For the last 6 years she has been the Head Age Group Coach for HydroSonic Tiburones.
Assistant Coach is Stephanie Hobelmann. Junior Coach Andrew Klein completes the 2025 Coaching Staff.
The Piranhas Swim Team is run by a volunteer executive committee comprised of parents. This team accepts all age groups from 5-18 years old. Our youngest members are mentored by the older swimmers and are an integral part of this team. Every age group is given individual attention by all the coaches and are encouraged to swim to their top potential.
