About the Piranhas
Our club is a Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL), Maryland, summer recreational competitive swim team, Division L. We offer high quality coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every swimmer an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success to the best of their ability.
This team was founded in 1988 by Mark Schoenfelder.
The Piranhas are led by Head Coach John Ajamian. As a previous MCSL swim team member, John knows and loves summer swim. Assistant Coach Zack Callis and Junior Coaches Julia Tomlinson and Kaylor Stroot complete the 2019 Coaching Staff.

The Piranhas Swim Team is run by a volunteer executive committee comprised of parents. This team accepts all age groups from 5-18 years old. Our youngest members are mentored by the older swimmers and are an integral part of this team. Every age group is given individual attention by all the coaches and are encouraged to swim to their top potential.
