Hiiii Piranhas! I am so excited for another great summer :) I swam for the Piranhas for 14 years and am thrilled to be back as the head coach this year. This will my fifth year on the coaching staff and second full year as head coach! I just finished my junior year at Catholic University in Washington D.C. where I am on the women's basketball team and majoring in Business Marketing.
I have two younger brothers named Matthew and Timmy (say hi if you see them working at Jimmy Cone). My family loves the pool, the lake, and basically anything that has to do with water. My favorite stroke is backstroke but I like butterfly and IM too.
I love this team and I’m looking forward to working with all our new and returning families this year!
Hey Piranha family! My name is Sara Gruber and I swam for the Upper County Dolphins for 6 years and the Plantation Piranhas for 7 years. It feels so good to be back in the swing of summer swim team! You can always catch me at a beach or a pool trying to soak up some sun and dive in the water.
This is my second year coaching with the Piranhas and I am beyond thrilled! I am a nursing major and I just finished up my third year at Belmont University. I love the fun and community that summer swim team provides and I am so excited to be a part of it again this year! I am Looking forward to a great season!
I joined the pre-team when I was 5 years old and have been part of the team all but one year since. While at Damascus High School, I was part of the Swim and Dive team and in my senior year I was a captain and qualified for Junior Nationals in the 200 yard free and back.
I swim the mid-distance freestyle events for Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, and in the fall will be a junior majoring in Economics. In my spare time I like to play basketball!
I look forward to my second year of coaching—helping each swimmer be the best they can be both in and out of the water! Go Piranhas!
Hey Piranhas! My name is AJ Navaleza, and I am super excited to be back this year! I swam on the Piranhas for 11 years, and this is my second year on the coaching staff and as an assistant coach.
I just finished my freshman year at the University of Maryland, currently studying computer science, and I am also on the club team. I swam and went to Damascus High School, and was a back-to-back state champion. My favorite events are breaststroke, IM, and freestyle. In my free time, I love playing video games and volleyball, as well as trying new foods and hanging out with my friends.
I’m really excited to be coaching again this year and I can’t wait to have a lot of fun! Go Piranhas!
