My name is John Ajamian and I will be your head coach for Summer 2019. I am at the time of writing this a Senior at UMD College Park and am finishing up the last few weeks of my B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Space Track specifically. I can talk endlessly about nerd science stuff but will try to keep it to a minimum during practice so you guys can enjoy your summer!
When I'm not doing school work (which has consumed most of my free time in the past 2 years) I like to fish, walk my dog, play any kind of pick up sports, and play video games.
I swam for Plantations for a few years after I moved to Damascus and had a blast. As your coach I hope to help you have as much of a good time as I did when I was on the team, and help you become better swimmers and athletes.
Hi Piranha Families! My name is Zack Callis and I am super excited to be your Assistant Coach! I grew up in Damascus and graduated from DHS in 2017 and attend McDaniel College pursuing a degree in Theatre Arts and American Sign Language. I swam for the Damascus Dolphins for 13 years and swam on the DHS Varsity Swim Team all four years and was a captain my senior year. When I’m not at the pool (which is a lot) I can be found driving around Damascus with my friends or outside by a fire during the night. Other hobbies include: theatre, listening to music and watching movies. I’m really an open book so if you have any questions, go ahead and ask!
Water has always played a huge role in my life, from being at the pool during the summer or on the beach, it has always been a constant. I hope that through coaching your children I can instill a love of water the same way my coaches did for me when I was younger. I look forward to an awesome season. Go Piranhas!
Hi! My name is Julia Tomlinson. I just finished my senior year at Damascus High School and will be attending Catholic University in DC in the fall to play basketball and major in Business. I joined the Plantations swim team when I was five years old and have loved it ever since. This season I will swim my last year on the team while also being a junior coach. My two younger brothers swim for the team as well. Matthew is 16 and Timmy is 12. My favorite stroke is backstroke but I like fly and IM too.
When swim team is over, I’m going on vacation with my family to California. I love being around the pool and I’m looking forward to working with all the kids this year!
Hello, my name is Kaylor Stroot.
I am going to college at McDaniel after graduating from Brookewood School where I study Chemistry, Art, and Education. I have been on the Piranhas swim team since I was in fourth grade.
I have a 15 year-old-sister and an 11 year-old-brother on the swim team too. I love backstroke and I can’t wait to be your junior coach this year! I will be here lifeguarding at P2 throughout the summer, but I love to go to Maine with my family, hang out with my friends, and watching Disney and superhero movies.
A few fun facts; I love traveling, art, and mac & cheese; I was born on February 29, 2000; and I have a puppy named Pippi who would LOVE to visit.
