Piranha Family and Friends—-

There are 3 special announcements we need you to take note of for the coming weeks. All are new for the team and super fun for swimmers and their families! Please review and respond where required:

1. PIRANHA PRE-TEAM MEET

Friday, July 12th, at 9:30am

All pre-teamers are invited to participate in the first official Piranha Pre-team Meet! It will take place during the Friday Frenzy prior to the last A Meet. All regular team swimmers will attend to cheer on and support our pre-team swimmers. The events are as follows:

1. Boys 25m freestyle

2. Girls 25m freestyle

3. Boys 25m backstroke

4. Girls 25m backstroke

5. Boys 25m kickboard

6. Girls 25m kickboard

7. Combined 100m Relay (in water start; no diving required)

Please let the coaches know your pre-team swimmer plans to attend and they will assign your pre-teamer to the races depending on their current ability. This should be a fun event to celebrate the accomplishments of our hard working pre-teamers! Bring your cameras and cheer them on!

2. DAMASCUS DAY PARADE,

Friday, July 12th at 6:30pm

Every year the parade marches by, and we watch our neighbors to the North, the Damascus Dolphins, go past us. Let’s get out and show our Piranha Pride! Its a great way to get some exercise, recruit and thank our local sponsors, and maybe get some new swimmers for next year! Who is interested in walking in the parade? After we gauge interest, we can send out detailed info. It is REALLY FUN to be in the parade and kids from previous years have always asked to participate!!

For your planning purposes, we would meet at the Weis parking lot at 6:30pm in our Piranha shirts. The parade starts at 7pm and heads on a 1 mile route to the VFW. Two tents would be set up at the end for grabbing a water and watching the fireworks. We will only participate if we have 25+ swimmers and family members who want to participate. Please let Cyndi Gregory ([email protected]) know if you would walk in the parade by Saturday, June 29th. We need to secure our spot!

3. YOGA BY THE POOL

Thursday evening, poolside, date TBD

Who doesn't need some zen moments in a Summer filled with swim crazed days? (Is that even possible, my wife says YES!) Be on the look out for an announcement to attend a 'yoga by the pool' event on an upcoming Thursday evening. It will be a fundraiser for the team! We could do an 'adults only', but the instructor is fabulous with preteens +, so if you are interested, please email Cyndi Gregory([email protected]) and let her know how many kids and adults may be interested so we can plan appropriately.
