2019 Season Wrap-up and All-Star Information
Piranha Families ---
Thank you to each and every one of you who volunteered your time to help make 2019 a memorable swim season for the Piranhas. We really cannot do it without everyone helping out, and your hard work allows us to make it a positive experience for all of our swimmers. It was awesome to see EVERYONE in the pool last night, although unfortunately our celebration was cut short due to lightening.
One group I failed to mention last night was our 13-18 your old team members who volunteered their time to help with our pre-team swimmers, and who often could be found manning watches as timers at the B meets. They set a great example of what it means to be a "teammate" for our younger team members. We really appreciate all that you do!!!
I apologize to all of our regular B meet swimmers as we again missed 2 meets due to weather again this year. I made the mistake 2 years ago of saying I had never seen a meet cancelled and Mother Nature has been making me pay ever since. Hopefully next year we get a little better luck!!!
2020 Division Assignment: As Kevin and Rosie have pointed out we finished 4th in our Division this year, but it was really close between 2nd to 4th. We will remain in Division L next season, but have a lot of new competition. Teams in our Division: Montgomery Square, Clarksburg Town Center, Plantations, Norbeck Hills, New Mark Commons, Willows of Potomac. Montgomery Square is the only holdover from this year. We will have three home A meets and three home B meets if this Division assignment holds.

3. SSL Forms
We still have some work to do on completing our SSL forms. Please get any additional hours you believe your children earned for pre-team to Leann Fink at [email protected]. For those that have e-mailed me, I have forwarded the information to Leann. When we get the SSL hours all completed, we will let you know and advise you on how we will get those forms to you. If you have any questions, please let me know.
4. Team towels, Spirit Wear, Paper Plates, Trophies, and Banquet Lost and Found
If you were unable to attend the banquet on Saturday each swimmer received a paper plate award from the coaches and a personalized team towel (swimmers name) from the team as an end of year gift. I will pick a late afternoon/evening later this week when I will be at the pool for you to come and claim your items. I'll send out details later this week in an e-mail entitled "Banquet Leftovers Pick-up". In addition, to those items I will have Spirit Wear orders and spatulas and other items left at the Banquet.
5. Suit and Swimwear Ordering
Cindy Ajamian is planning on leaving our store on Swim Outlet open all year. If you need practice suits, goggles, fins, or anything else throughout the year, go onto Swim Outlet through our link on the Swimtopia website (https://pltpiranhas.swimtopia.com/2019-swimsuit) and purchase your gear. As always a portion of the proceeds will be returned to the team!!!
6. Team Picture and Team Video
Kevin Lynch posted a link on the web-site to the team picture this morning for anyone who would like a copy of the team picture. He will also be adding a link to the team video that Mr. Navaleza put together and we showed at the banquet last night.
Thanks again for another FUN season of Piranha Swimming!!!
Mike, Rosie, Nikki and Monica
