First, for those of you receiving this e-mail I want to thank you for registering early.  This really helps plan the season.  This will be the first of several important e-mails this weekend.  I do not like to spam your inboxes, but with the unique nature of this season there is a lot of information to get out to you.

Second, the purpose of this e-mail is to make a call for officials.  Our greatest needs are Stroke and Turn and Starter.  Rob Klein is my lead Referee and Caroline Scace is his fantastic back-up.  That being said, we are always ready to train an additional referee as well.  All training this year will be on-line.  For those of us who have previously been certified, I believe nearly all of us need to recertify this season.  Please go online at www.mcsl.org to register for training.  Click on "Officials Certification" on the left hand side to find the registration links.  Trainings in the different positions (Referee, Starter, Stroke and Turn) begin on May 24th and are scattered until June 13th.  Rob and Caroline, please note there is a special training for those certified in multiple areas, and all referees must get training this year to handle the COVID protocols.  

Please consider helping out and let me know if you plan to be trained and certified.  I hope to have enough volunteers that I do not need to ask people to get trained.  Let's make sure the kids can have a great season, and note if you really want to see a meet in person, you will need to be an official on the deck because there are no spectators allowed this season.
