PIRANHA FAMILIES ---

Ok, so we will start rolling into some of our weekly e-mails for the team following our terrific first week of practice.  The coaches are doing a great job with the swimmers and the cold water has left us hopefully for the remainder of the season!!  The swimmers are getting familiar with the routine and most showed up for our back-to-back Friday evening/ Saturday AM practices, which was awesome!!!

PARENT MEETING 3 (Hopefully the last scheduled meeting):

WHAT: Time Trials. Volunteering, and Spirit Gear

WEEKLY MEET SCHEDULE:

This week is Time Trials (NO Pre-Team swimmers):

WHEN: Sunday, June 13th at 9:00am, warm-ups will start at 8:20am.

CHALK IT UP:  If it is not raining, bring your kids at 7:45am to CHALK IT UP OUTSIDE THE GATE on the walkway!  Show off your artistic skills as we get fired up for the season.

WHERE: Plantations II Pool

DECLARE YOUR SWIMMERS: You must have your swimmers declared for the meet and signed up for the events they wish to swim by noon, Friday, June 11th. If you miss the deadline for some reason, please contact the Team Reps. If you do not know what your child should swim, see one of the coaches before or after practice. I will schedule a day or two for makeup time trials next week.  Please make sure I am aware that your swimmer needs to make up time trials so that I can schedule them accordingly.  PLEASE NOTE: The Time Trials sign up was not working properly earlier today.  If you could not select events for your swimmers please go back in and select their events.

VOLUNTEER: I need all parents to check out the volunteer sign up tab that is next to the meet sign up tab for time trials.  I need 20 timers for this meet, 4 stroke and turn judges, 2 runners, and 3 clerk of course, and 3 automation personnel among other jobs.  When you sign your swimmer up, please sign up to volunteer. Cyndi Gregory and Shannon Dietrich are our Volunteer Coordinators. On Thursday and Friday they will start contacting those who have not volunteered to assign you a job on Sunday. Please sign up to volunteer and pick your desired post, so we don't have to assign one for you. I will discuss this in greater detail at the Wednesday Parent Meeting.

TEAM EVENTS THIS WEEK:

1. Practice continues after school this week Monday, June 7th - Friday, June 11th:

Pre-team: No practice until June 17th

10 and under: 7-7:30pm

11-18 yrs.: 7:30-8:30pm

2. Suits: There is no time like the present to order your team suits, goggles, practice suits, and caps. Visit the Piranhas team store on the web-site to order your suits. The team receives a portion of the proceeds from the sale of all gear from our suit store, but you must enter through our portal.

3. Spirit Wear:  I will be sending you a separate e-mail on Spirit Wear.  We will have only a few short days to order, so be on the look-out for that e-mail!!!

4. Meet format.  I will be sharing that with the parents and the team this week at the parents meeting and a follow up e-mail.  As always, see me with any thoughts or concerns.
