Piranha Families —-

So, for the third time in a week I am getting to play amateur meteorologist.  My buddy Doug Kammerer assures me that it is going to rain Saturday morning.  They could be showers and a steady rain, with the most likely hours being smack in the middle of time trials.  Now, if this were to occur during the season we would be swimming, but since it will be 62 and raining I am going to assume we all don’t want to stand shivering, and wet, in the rain.  And since I have the option to move the time trials to Sunday:

1. TIME TRIALS MOVED TO SUNDAY 6/12: Warm ups will start at 8:10am for 11-18 and 8:30am for 10u.  The meet will start promptly at 9am.  We now have 77 swimmers signed up to swim which seems more like it.  If for some reason moving to Sunday means you can no longer participate, or it now means you can participate, please either change your availability or let Coach Tomlinson or myself know.  We are doing the lineup at 1pm tomorrow (Friday).

2. VOLUNTEER:  We still need 3 Stroke and Turn judges, 6 timers, and a few other positions.  Time trials is low key so it’s a good time to try out a volunteer position.  Shannon Dietrich will be tracking you down.

3 FRIDAY: Friday events:

     A. Ice Cream Social:  For the kids at the conclusion of each practice. 

     B. New swimmers:  At the end of each practice I will conduct a walkthrough of the check in and starting procedure for our new swimmers.  We will conduct this prior to ice cream time.  Parents feel free to join.

     C. Parent Meeting:  New parents who have not had the pleasure of hearing me walk through what to expect from summer swim team, please join me at 5:45pm out under the trees for a briefing.  Should last about 30 minutes.
