Piranha Families —-

As of this morning we are at 100 registered swimmers!  Wow!  That is amazing.

The first few weeks of practice are a little hectic since we are limited to three lanes in the afternoon practices.  Here is the plan for Tuesday, May 30th and then the remainder of the first week.

1. Practice Schedule*:

Tuesday - Friday:

4pm-5pm: 13-18 year olds (30 swimmers)

5-6pm: 8u and 9-10 girls (33 swimmers)

6pm-7pm: 9-10 boys, 11-12 year olds (35 swimmers)

Saturday:

8am-9:30am: 11-18 year olds (56 swimmers)

9:30am-10:30am: 10u (44 swimmers)

* The 9-10 boys may be moved into the 5-6pm workout depending on the number of pre-team swimmers we have after evaluations.

2. Tuesday, May 30th:

A. New swimmers (those who have not been on the Piranha Swim Team before):  Please come to the corresponding age-group practice.  Your swimmer will be evaluated to determine if they are ready for the swim team, or are more suited to pre-team.  If they are ready for swim team, they will stay and practice.  Pre-teams swimmers will start their practices on June 19th at the end of the school year!

B. Parents meetings.  Parents new and old should plan to meet with the Team Reps while their kids are swimming to get details on the upcoming swim season.  Katie and I do have several items to discuss with all parents.  We will do this at all three practices.

3. Check-In:

On practice day you will need to check in through the entrance to the pool.  So please give yourself time to get through the crunch of people.  Also, make sure your pool membership and pool forms are up to date.  I have notified those who are not up to date and hopefully you can take care of the outstanding issues before Tuesday.  If not, you may not be granted entrance to the pool.  Note: on Saturday this is not an issue as we I’ll enter through the side gate.
