Exciting News in the Piranha Family

    Piranha Families -

We wanted to pass along some very exciting news.  Our head coach, Nic Santorelli, in addition to being an excellent swim coach, is also very gifted in the classroom.

Nic has been accepted to a Theology Seminar at Cornell University under the Lumen Christi Institute. Titled “Integral Ecology: Science, Theology, and Creation”, it is “a weeklong intensive seminar integrating theological study with direct scientific observation of the natural world and experiences of creation” which is led by scholars in the field. There is required reading in preparation for the seminar such as selected works from St. Bonaventure and Josef Peiper. Nic will investigate topics in depth with the Professors and 14 other students (only 15 students nationwide selected for this opportunity). There will be daily excursions such as to Cayuga Lake and the university’s Botanical Gardens. Nic’s philosophy professors were delighted to hear that he had been accepted into this program as it will aid in the development of his intellectus as he pushes  forward with a double major in Philosophy and Economics at Mount St. Mary’s University.

Please congratulate Nic on this amazing opportunity.

This also means we will be without Nic for the week of June 18th through June 24th.  We are thrilled to announce that the week of 18-24 June will officially be the first Piranhas Throwback Week as Julia Tomlinson (Head Coach ‘20-‘22) will be on deck to work with Coaches Farina and Khouri that week (Coach Gregory will be at Penn State swim camp that week as well).  Nic and Julia will coordinate and make sure everything operates seamlessly.

So again, Congratulations to Nic on his accomplishment and welcome back and thanks to Coach Julia for throwback week 2023!

    GO PIRANHAS!!!
