Hey Piranhas,

We had a great first week! Here is what you need to know this week:

1. New Caps - I will be selling Piranha swim caps at practices for $10 each. You can pay by Venmo or cash.
2. Piranha Passdown - It’s the perfect time to go through all your Piranha and swim gear that your swimmer has outgrown but is still in good condition. Zoie Gregory will be collecting the gear. You can drop it off in a bag labeled (Piranha Passdown) to practice or at the Gregory’s Home 23801 Echo Creek Court Gaithersburg (right off Woodfield School Road); just leave it on the front porch.
3. Drink Donations - We ask each family to donate two 12-packs (cans only, please) of Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, 24 12-oz bottles of Gatorade (not G2), or 24 12-oz of bottled water. Please bring them to the pool before the first home meet.
4. Ice Cream Social -This Friday, June 7th! After their practice, swimmers will enjoy a bowl of ice cream with many toppings. We are looking for volunteers to sign up to bring ice cream and toppings and help serve. This is a great way to meet new people.
5. Time Trials—Please declare your swimmer and sign them up for every stroke they can swim legally. The deadline to sign up for Time Trials is Wednesday, June 5th. The coaches will then review each event and make the final decision. Please have your swimmers be at the pool by 8:00 for warm-ups. The make-up time trial will be Monday, June 10th, from 5-7. The 5-6 and 6-7 practices are canceled. Please declare your swimmer so we know how many will need to make up on Monday. Parents of the swimmer making up time trials will need to stay and help time.
6. Volunteer for Time Trials- Your assistance is crucial for the success of Time Trials. We can only run this event with your help. This is also a fantastic opportunity for you to learn about the different job positions. Attached is our map of volunteer roles. I will briefly overview the volunteer jobs on Wednesday, June 5th, at 6:00 between the two practices.
7. Calling All Bakers! - The concessions team needs your baking skills. If you enjoy baking, they are looking for volunteers to help with hospitality. Please reach out to Alyson Most at [email protected]. Your delicious treats will be greatly appreciated and will surely add to the enjoyment of our meets!
