What is Beaver Dam?: BEAVER DAM SWIMMING CLUB is located in Cockeysville, Maryland. It covers about 30 acres. We are known for our fresh water quarry and our infamous rope swing. Come spend a fun-filled day with us, swimming in either one of our two pools (up to 5' deep) OR, for STRONG SWIMMERS, the quarry (average depth 40'). After swimming, take a break and enjoy some volleyball on one of our sand volleyball courts. If relaxing is more your interest, we have shaded areas with grills (16" X 16") for picnics and cookouts. You may bring your own food and drinks (BUT NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES) or stop by our snack bar for a quick bite to eat.

Life Vests: LIFE VESTS REQUIRED AS INSTRUCTED BY LIFEGUARDS AND MANAGEMENT. All children ages 4 - 8 years old MUST wear a life vest while swimming in the quarry. No swim test option. MUST BE 4 YEARS OLD TO SWIM IN THE QUARRY. Life Vests can be rented for $20 and once returned, you will be refunded.

    Start: 9:00 AM
    Warm-up: 8:20 AM

    Theme is Hawaian.

WHO: The Piranha’s will face off with The Long Branch Water Wizards

WHERE At Long Branch Pool, 8700 Piney Branch Road, Silver Spring, MD 20901, this is a long drive, so please plan to leave early. Purple Line construction is still in process and will cause traffic. They recommend we approach the pool from the intersection of University Blvd and Piney Branch Rd, as it is then a straightforward, uncomplicated right turn into the pool lot. Note that the entrance to the pool parking lot has moved and is 50 ft closer to University Blvd. Also, be mindful of the rough and bumpy road along Piney Branch Rd.

WHEN: All swimmers should arrive no later than 8:00 AM for an 8:20 AM scheduled warm up. We will meet in the parking lot and walk in as a team. The meet will begin promptly at 9:00 AM

THEME: Hawaiian! Bring out those grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts.

PARKING: Parking is available in the pool lot in any space not bearing a restricted designation (pool staff, handicap, fire lane, no parking, etc.). Please ask your team to ensure they are not parking in a restricted spot or in the circle outside the community center, as vehicles may be towed if they do.

The parking lot is large and should be sufficient for both of our teams. Still, if anyone cannot find a spot in the pool lot, additional parking is available in the Long Branch Library lot off Garland Avenue (accessed via Plymouth Ave on Flower Ave as indicated in the attached map), as well as in the neighborhood behind the library along Wayne and Garland Aves. There is a path with a footbridge connecting the library to the pool. It takes just a few minutes to walk between the two.

CONCESSIONS: They will have an assortment of prepared concessions available on Saturday — donuts, breakfast sandwiches, fruit, breakfast bars/granola bars, candy, coffee, and cold water/Gatorade/.soda. They will also have all-beef hot dogs available at the break. Please note that they accept cash, PayPal, and Zelle.

TEAM AREA: Your team area is located at the far end of the pool behind the heat chairs. This is the large grassy area with some chairs available, but bring additional chairs and canopies if it is sunny, as there is not much shade at the pool.
