Celebrate Damascus Parade/Fireworks
Downtown Damascus
Start: 5:45 PM
End: 9:30 PM
(estimated)
Location: Damascus HS parking lot Time: 5:45pm Come walk in the Celebrate Damascus Parade and represent our Piranhas family! If you've never done this parade before it's about a 1 mile walk from the Damascus HS parking lot to the Damascus Fairgrounds by the VFW. We will meet in the parking lot to line up and the parade officially starts at 7pm. Please wear your tie-dye Piranhas shirt, other Piranhas gear or anything green. Swimmers and their families are all welcome to walk. All swimmers under 11, will need to be escorted by an adult chaperone. Parents are welcome to pull children in wagons (feel free to decorate them) or just walk. You will definitely want to wear sneakers. Sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended. Swimmers can bring their own candy (in a bag or bucket) to toss to the crowd during the parade. Chocolate candy melts so try to pick something else to toss. We will have our Piranhas tents set up near the end of the parade, if your family would like to hang out afterwards to watch the fireworks. Feel free to bring snacks (to share), blankets and chairs! If you would like to donate extra candy for swimmers to toss or a cooler (for us to put drinks and freeze pops in at the end of the parade) feel free to drop it off at the Friday Frenzy happening earlier in the day. |
