WHO: Lake Marion Lasers

WHEN: Wednesday, June 21st @ 6pm.

THEME: The Color War Continues….Adults and Volunteers wear GREEN, 15-18’s wear PINK, 13-14’s wear PURPLE, 11-12’s wear BLUE, 9-10’s wear YELLOW, and 8u wear RED!!! The coaches will reinforce this week.

SIGN-UP: Please make sure to sign your swimmers up on-line by Monday evening (6/19) at 6pm. You can select the events they swim.

VOLUNTEER: When you sign up your swimmer, please sign up to volunteer at the meet. We should have a large B-team this season, so I expect all parents to volunteer to support your swimmers!

MEET TIMING:

a. SWIMMERS: Swimmers arrive by 5pm and check in with Coach Julia and Coach Linx. Warm-ups will start around 5:25pm and last only 15 minutes.

b. VOLUNTEERS:

ARRIVAL: Please show up with your swimmers and check in with Shannon Dietrich and Lauren Gonzalez.

OFFICIALS: Need to be on-site by 5:15pm for the Officials Briefing. Please be on-time so we can stay on schedule.

Eligibility Guidelines:

Swimmers may sign up for as many events as they want as long as they didn’t swim that event in the A meet, with the exception of freestyle. Swimmers can swim freestyle at the B meet as long as they placed outside the top 6 in freestyle if they swam it in the A meet.

You cannot swim any event you have an ALL-STAR time in.

A swimmer should not sign up for a stroke they are not legal in unless requested by Coach Julia (this usually means they are close to being legal). See the coach if you have a question.

A swimmer cannot swim the B meet in any stroke for which they are usually an A meet swimmer but missed this past weekend’s A meet. I do not believe this applies to anyone this week. 

WHEN:   Saturday, June 17th at 9am; warm-ups at 8:00 AM. Arrive by 7:45 AM and check in with the Coaches.

CHALK IT UP:  Arrive at 7:30 AM if you would like to decorate the walkway outside the gate with some artwork welcoming Waters Landing to our pool. Chalk is provided, but feel free to donate.

DECLARE YOUR SWIMMERS: Please go online and declare your swimmers either AVAILABLE or NOT AVAILABLE for the meet. You must be declared by 6 PM, Wednesday, June 14th, so that the coaches can prepare the meet line-up. Note: Only the top 3 swimmers in each age group swim in each event except freestyle, where the top 6 swimmers participate. See the Reps if you have any questions.

VOLUNTEER: While you are declaring your swimmer is AVAILABLE, SIGN-UP to volunteer for a position at this week's meet. It’s already looking pretty good, so thanks for making the volunteer coordinators happy!

MEET LINE-UP: The meet line-up will be posted by the coach no later than Friday, June,16th. This is when you will know if your swimmer is in the A meet.

WHEN: Saturday, June 10th at 9:00am, warm-ups will start at 8:20am.

RAIN DATE: Sunday, June 11th at 9:00am, warm-ups will start at 8:20am

WEATHER: We saw the forecast for Saturday and it looks dry with temps in the 60’s-70’s in the AM. Great weather for swimming.

DECLARE YOUR SWIMMERS: You must have your swimmers declared for the meet by noon on Thursday, June 8th. We need everyone possible to participate in Time Trials. Coach Nic and the Team Reps will be putting the lineup together on Thursday evening. Like last season, Coach Nic is going to determine the events you will be swimming at Time Trials. If you miss the deadline for some reason, please contact the Team Reps. We will schedule makeups for Monday and Tuesday next week, but with a limited amount of space and time with the practices going on we may not be able to get everyone through all of the events. If you have a swimmer making up time trials, make sure you stay around to time.

VOLUNTEER: We need all parents to check out the volunteer sign up tab that is next to the meet sign up tab for time trials. We need 20 timers for this meet, 4 stroke and turn judges, 2 runners, and 3 clerk of course, and 3 automation personnel among other jobs. When you sign your swimmer up, please sign up to volunteer. Lauren Gonzalez, Sara Carbonell, Cyndi Gregory and Shannon Dietrich are our Volunteer Coordinators. On Thursday and Friday they will start contacting those who have not volunteered to assign you a job. Please sign up to volunteer and pick your desired post, so we don't have to assign one for you.
